Affordable Care Act (ACA) Employer & Employee Filing Regulations

Is your organization aware of and making plans to address employer filing and employee form distribution regulations for the Affordable Care Act (ACA)? 

The information required for reporting will most likely come from your Human Resources/Benefits department.  JAT Software is monitoring the regulations and plans to support employer and employee reporting and form distribution.

Outlined in Treasury Department Sections 6055 and 6056 of the Internal Revenue Code, the regulations are intended to assist the IRS in enforcing the individual ACA mandate.  Reporting will enable the IRS to determine if employers are subject to the Section 4980H excise tax assessment if they fail to offer minimal essential health coverage or affordable coverage to their employees.

The regulations will impose reporting requirements similar to W-3s and W-2s.  Enforcement takes effect January 1, 2015, with year-end reporting for calendar year 2015 beginning January 2016.  Employee forms must be delivered by January 31, 2016.  Regulations for delivery of employee forms appear to include both printing and mailing as well as electronic delivery.

For employee form distribution, we are preparing to offer outsourced form printing with our Print Services, electronic delivery with e-PRINTVIEW our self-service internet application, and in-house printing with PRINTVIEW PLUS.
